FAQs
Do you accept health insurance?
Currently, River City Speech Therapy accepts only direct payments/private pay through cash, check, or Ivy Pay. Although I am not in-network with any insurance at this time, I can provide you with documentation known as a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement using any out-of-network benefits you may have.

How much do you charge for evaluation and treatment?

Articulation/speech sounds only, $80, typically lasts 30-45 minutes and includes written evaluation report
All other assessments, $120, typically lasts 60-75 minutes and includes written evaluation report

Where are you located?
Most evaluation and treatment sessions will be scheduled at one of the two Liberty Lake Children's Academy locations (1322 N Stanford Ln or 20762 E Indiana Ave). Home visits and online/teletherapy visits are also available on a case by case basis.

My doctor or others have told me to "wait and see" if my child will catch up, but I still have concerns. What should I do?
All children develop at their own pace and it can be hard to know whether to wait for them to catch up or to have them evaluated. If you are not sure whether your child needs a formal communication evaluation, please contact me! I would be happy to chat with you about your concerns and help you decide when and whether to pursue additional help.

What happens at a communication evaluation?
While the communication evaluation will look different depending on the age and needs of the child, in general each evaluation will include a brief parent/caregiver interview, a short play or conversation activity with the child, and one or more standardized assessments. Recommendations for therapy frequency and duration will be discussed following the evaluation.

What happens during a speech therapy session?
This will also look different depending on the age of the child. For younger children, speech therapy sessions often look like play. This play has a specific purpose however, which I will explain throughout the session so that you may carry over strategies into your own daily activities. For older children, speech and language targets may be taught more directly, however play elements will still be incorporated throughout the session to improve carryover/generalization.
